Theresa Wong is the Head of Science of the IPCC Working Group II Technical Support Unit (TSU) in Singapore. Together with the science team, she is responsible for delivering and coordinating science-related inputs of the TSU throughout the preparation and review of the products during the Seventh Assessment Cycle, and building relevant regional scientific and policy networks. Theresa has worked on the implementation side of climate change adaptation for a decade. More recently, she served as regional climate change officer for the Food and Agriculture Organization in North Africa and the Middle East, providing quality assurance and technical support for country-level climate change projects tackling water scarcity, land degradation, food insecurity and conflict, through building climate-resilient rural livelihoods, promoting gender-transformative climate action and supporting national food and climate policy pathways that include the most vulnerable. Her work in FAO and previously with UNDP provided an opportunity to work closely with global climate funds and regional climate change partners, as well as lead and contribute to the development of regional and global analyses of climate impacts and solutions for agrifood systems and land. Theresa obtained a Ph.D in Geography from the Ohio State University in 2010 and was previously on the faculty of Geography and Environmental Studies at Carleton University.
