IPCC
Xin Rong Chua serves as a part-time Science Officer for the IPCC Working Group II Technical Support Unit, seconded from the National Environment Agency in Singapore. In this role, she supports the activities of Working Group II and the IPCC Special Report on Cities and Climate Change, including IPCC meetings and sessions.
At present, she is a Research Scientist at the Centre for Climate Research Singapore, a research division of the Meteorological Service Singapore, where she co-authored Singapore’s Third National Climate Change Study. She has experience in climate modelling, climate science, and scientific communication to a range of audiences. Her research interests are in the mechanisms governing tropical weather and climate, particularly in policy-relevant areas such as precipitation extremes.
Xin Rong holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from Princeton University.
