Lina  Elisabet Sitz is the Senior Data Scientist in the Working Group I TSU based in France. She will be managing all the Working Group I data aspects, including curation and archival, throughout IPCC’s seventh cycle. She is a scientist, data integrity specialist, and assistant teacher with more than 15 years of experience in research in the field of Earth System Physics. Her work has primarily focused on understanding ocean dynamics and their effects on climate and the environment.

She has been actively involved with the Working Group I TSU, contributing to the archival of data and code for figures from the Working Group I contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report. Applying FAIR Data principles, she ensured that finalized data and metadata were transferred to long-term archival facilities, always looking for innovative methods to implement these standards.

Lina’s expertise and dedication were recognized when she was chosen as one of the domain ambassadors for the Research Data Alliance/European Open Science Cloud Future, where she helps promote data sharing and open science practices in Earth sciences. In addition, Lina spearheaded a project aimed at responsibly sharing research data, providing essential resources to scientists working under developing conditions.

Over the past year, she has also worked on improving user experience and metadata information in the IPCC Interactive Atlas and the Copernicus Interactive Climate Atlas. She coordinated activities related to the IPCC and the IPCC Data Distribution Center, ensuring seamless data management and accessibility.

Her current research interests include open science, citizen science, research support services, and research data management.
