Azra is the Science Officer of the Working Group II TSU.

As the Science Officer she provides science support for the TSU and the products and activities of Working Group II (WGII). She supports the science-related aspects of the scoping, preparation, drafting, review and completion of the contribution to the WGII, IPCC Seventh Assessment Report. Azra supports the planning, running, and reporting of the meetings and sessions organized by WGII. Furthermore, together with a dedicated TSU staff member she supports the WGII members of the IPCC Task Group on Data and facilitates the curation of data products from the reports of WGII with the IPCC Data Distribution Centre.

Azra has a broad advisor and scientific experience. She worked as a science and impact advisor at World Wildlife Fund (NL) and prior to that she gained experience as an environmental consultant. Azra is also an experienced researcher and applied scientist focused on environment, climate change and the agri-food sector. In the innovation centre Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Italy) she gained valuable experience in applying science to solve climate change mitigation and adaptation challenges by the use of predictive models, big data analysis, climate change scenarios and AI.  Azra has extensive experience in working with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.  Azra holds a PhD in Agri-Food Economics and Policy.
