David is supporting the WGIII TSU for the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). He brings substantial experience as a lead author on numerous other flagship reports, such as the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (WGIII), IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 °C, Global Energy Assessment, and International Council for Science (ICSU) study on SDG inter-linkages.

David is a Senior Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Knoxville, Tennessee (USA). Before joining ORNL, David was a Senior Research Scholar with the Energy Program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg, Austria, and a Principal Technical Leader in the Energy Systems and Climate Analysis Group at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto, California (USA). He also holds an appointment as a Research Fellow in Energy and Environment at the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy at the University of Tennessee.
