Geneva, 28 November 2014 – Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is launching the full version of its contribution Climate Change 2014: Mitigation of Climate Change to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report in its final format. As the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference prepares to open in Lima, Peru, the IPCC is publishing its assessment of the relevant options for limiting climate change.

Copenhagen, 2 November 2014 – Human influence on the climate system is clear and growing, with impacts observed on all continents. If left unchecked, climate change will increase the likelihood of severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts for people and ecosystems. However, options are available to adapt to climate change and implementing stringent mitigations activities can ensure that the impacts of climate change remain within a manageable range, creating a brighter and more sustainable future.

Copenhagen, 27 October 2014– The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) opened a meeting in Copenhagen on Monday to finalize the Synthesis Report, the last stage of its Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), which provides policymakers with a comprehensive assessment of the risks of climate change.

This definitive assessment is the result of years of intensive work by leading experts in the field. It provides the most comprehensive look to date at the widespread impacts and risks of climate change and the
opportunities for response. The full version of the Working Group II report includes a Summary for Policymakers, a Technical Summary, 30 assessment chapters, cross-chapter boxes, frequently asked questions, and high-resolution graphics.
